Yui (she/them) took her first intro-to-pole class at Body & Pole on Sep 21st 2018. She immediately fell in love with aerial and dancing. She knew she wanted circus for life. While she specializes in Pole & Aerial Pole, she also trains Partner Acrobatics, Straps, Silks, Rope, Lyra, contortion, and handstands.
Yui is an Elevated certified Pole 1 & 2 & flexibility instructor. She graduated from the Body and Pole 130+ Hour Intense Teacher training program in Fall 2022. She was also a former work-study at Warrior Bridge & Cirquehaus (NYC circus training facilities). She has performed at many NYC Venues including the Slipper Room, Drom NYC, and Velvet Brooklyn. She currently coaches at the PoleArity Palance and CandyCane NYC.
She looks forward to further improving her own skills, acquiring more certifications, and performing more frequently in 2023.
Despite her athleticism, Yui has a very quantitative background. She obtained her BS in Mathematics degree with a minor in Financial Engineering from New York University in 2019. She received Founder Day Reward, and George Bachman Reward (the one and only reward for an outstanding BS in Math student). She was on the dean’s list all semesters during college.
After graduation, she joined Barclays Bank as a full-time FX & Macro strategist for 3 years, until she decided to pursue her circus dream. She also interned at JP Morgan Tokyo in Global Markets and Credit Suisse Founder Security Shanghai in Investment Banking Division. She holds CISI certifications in Securities, Derivatives, and Regulations.
She has multicultural background, as she has lived all across the world, in United States, China, Singapore, Japan, and UK. She’s trilingual in English, Japanese, and Chinese.
